Advil & Rolaids

Yeah, it was that type of weekend. Lots of booze and lots of rowdiness. I was up at the house from Thursday through Monday. On Friday we may have ridden for approximately 2 hours. The conditionsl were rather rough. Icy slopes and no tree riding is not a common forecast at Jay Peak. But at least once a season there ice a northeast thaw that affects the mountain. Admittedly the thaw last year at the same time was worse. The base survived better this time and on Thursday night the mountain got a couple inches that saved Friday from being a total disaster. I actually enjoyed some of my runs. It was the first opportunity I had to really dial in my bindings and get a good feel for them. Also, I started getting a little looser around the mountain; finding little jumps on trails that I usually don't spend too much time on. Also, the new and improved Grom Park was openned. I pretty much sucked in it. But by the end of the weekend I was starting to feel more comfortable in the air. I even pulled some solid 180s and 360s.

As for the party, New Year's night was a blast. This weekend the crowd included all the usuals including NICKY, Eric, Randy, Colin, JessB, JessG, Dan and I. We also had special guests Patrick and Ineka(sp?), and Ineka's sister Kara. Really fun group. Hi-jinx for the night included a full group game of LCR and some pool. There was even some singing and dancing. I remember mostly the Beatles being a huge hit, especially Abbey Road. And, of course, who could forget the pool table balancing game? Which expanded to a game of stool balancing. This one was rather dangerous to say the least. Also, since it was Eric's birthday, Dan had a supply some small firecrackers. Oh, and the pinata! Eric got a pinata filled with nips and candy.

I should also mention that we had a spectacular Turkey dinner that was cooked by Colin in his deep fryer. We also cooked some of my homemade buffalo wings in the fryer. Very tasty. There was lots of Champagne (and many other things) had by all.

Both Friday and Saturday nights ended up being pretty darn late. Both nights we all ended up trying to watch the Family Guy movie and both nights we all one by one filtered out of the living room to our beds. I hope someday we can actually finish watching it.

I tried to keep this post rather short. So the writing wasn't very good. But, whatever. I will try to get some photos posted of the weekend.
